Chief Human Resources Officer

Job Summary

The Chief Human Resource Officer serves as a member of the senior leadership team responsible for the overall management and direction (strategically and operationally) of Human Resources supporting overall strategy of the company. This position serves as a consultant and confidant to the President and to the members of the executive staff and is integrally involved in the strategic planning and decision- making process.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities

  4. Work directly with operating management to help influence and shape culture and manage organizational change.
  5. Develop human resources policies, management plans and programs and be accountable for their communication and implementation.
  6. Responsible for employee relations.
  7. Serve as coach and counsel, providing guidance to operating management regarding key decisions.
  8. Ensure that the principal activities of the human resources management function is completely and professionally carried out, with emphasis placed on employee relations, organizational development, recruitment, compensation, benefits, associate development and training, and human resource information systems.
  9. Determine best practices and standardize HR operations where practical to promote organizational efficiency and effectiveness.
  10. Guide the development and implementation of effective staffing plans/models to accurately forecast human resource needs.
  11. Ensure compliance with regulatory matters in the human resources field, such as EEO, safety, etc.
  12. Serves as central point for Legal, Commission or DOL issues.
  13. Light housekeeping to keep the facilities and grounds in perfect order.  This includes keeping work areas tidy, picking up litter on the grounds and general straightening up.

Educational, Licensure and Skill Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Minimum of 8 years of professional level experience in Human Resources and leadership
  • A proven track record in directing an innovative human resource program within a complex and rapidly changing environment.
  • Experience designing or managing the design of compensation strategies.
  • Experience designing, implementing or managing performance review systems.
  • Experience managing recruiting relationships – search firms, colleges, etc.
  • Experience leveraging social media (LinkedIn, Facebook, Twitter, etc.) in support of HR efforts.
  • Travel required.
